Simple Request

         Simple Request

if you would
lay your head
in my lap
if you would
close your eyes
breathe with me
let me lay my hand
on your heart
to know its beating

let me hold your soul
to my lips whispering a caress
let me brush my eyelashes
along the curve of your cheek
to know your wishes
let your arms encircle me
strong and steady

imagine our own universe
the synchronicity of wanting
high tide of desire
each for the other is a rare thing
in this moment of calm
no sound but breath and
the duet of hearts

Fasting

Fasting
I’d do anything and have to keep this in and you anything
and have to keep from hearing.
Olga Broumas

Of course,
you can see the hunger
in my eyes more clearly
than ever recognize yours
were you to stand eyes
to mirror and examine
the depth of needs
you act out daily

You lie to yourself
amorcito,
using every instrument
of vision    binoculars
and telescope to scan
the horizon rather than
look into my eyes
and glimpse yourself
 alone   just as hungry
as breathless with desire

you are so unaccustomed
to apotheosis   that ecstasy
being wide open
like sky
though we sleep windows
doors flung aside
wake at sunrise to watch
blue to pink   lights
on the bridge the only seperation
of night and ocean
even then I must ask
for your embrace
though we share this
purely before
our defenses have wakened

what pulls you away
from me    after
we have made unabashed
love for hours intuitively
amorcito   in sleep you
lay your head on my breasts
content   our breath  our hearts
synchronous
and full

Little Poem Of Love

Little Poem of Love

sheer morning in the dunes
flutes in the wind
play a sequence of notes
across the horizon
the ocean constant
the ocean ever changing
cathedral of song
my heart
a strange divinity
night
opaque night of the full moon
imagine your hands
surrounded by voices
gliding shivering the seagrass
holy its inclination
 silence within the circle
little frogs on the windowsill
i have a sense of loosing
myself to hold you
chimes
bells in the wind
flare and dissolve
empty rooms and
shadows on the walk
my garden green and astonishing
the patience of a clock
hours withheld
those given with an open hand
conjunction of ocean and prayer

ARS POETICA

ARS POETICA

                                                   for Archibald MacLeish

it was Greece
so easily
opening my eyes
I want you

come
climb through my petticoat
white curtains billow
cerulean oceans
somewhere between these
lips petulant vortex
pressed palm of my hand
the love line extends off
infinitely becoming

there is a point
immaculate
between your breasts
where harmony overcomes
angels fly from my fingertips
gently along the crescent of your sleep

give me your hand
its already too late
our eyes flashed
locked
gave us away
even ordering wine
is impossible without you

come
come run away with me
come
all night long
the full moon spoke
words of love
to her little stars
whispering
this is a female constellation

Transcendence

                                      Transcendence                          for Bunny

she walks
threading her way among the others
in search of the perfect
space so thin
passing through will scrape
the mortal cocoon away
let the soul transcend
through the needle’s eye
she would go
if she could
passing like a beam of light
into the immaculate
she whispers
to angels and saints
where, where
to the bright white
open
O, she says

O
